Central hub of Corbett
Marchula is a small tourist spot in the Ramnagar town of Uttaranchal state, India. This village is situated on the banks of the River Ramganga, by its sparkling waters. It is the central hub to the Jim Corbett National Park. One gets a greater insight into Corbett, by visiting this village. The forest area of Marchula is covered in trees of pine, sal and fir. Ramnagar is located at a distance of 65 kilometers from the picturesque hill station of Nainital. It is situated on the banks of the River Kosi, in the rich farm belt of Terai. This town was established in the year 1856. It is a gateway to the Jim Corbett National Park. Due to its close proximity with Corbett and Nainital, it is a popular tourist destination as well. There are many spots for fishing in the area. It is famous for the farming of litchi fruit. The best time to visit Ramnagar is in the months of November to June.

Jim Corbett National Park
This park is renowned for tiger conservation, which started with the Bengal Tiger. It is the oldest National Park in India, established in the year 1936. It lies in the sub-Himalayan belt, experiencing pleasant days and cold nights. Corbett is coming up as an eco-tourism destination for the world tourists. The wilderness of the park consists of 488 species of plants, 50 species of mammals and 580 species of rare birds. The area comprises of hillocks, river belts, marsh lands, grasslands and a large lake. More than 70% of the preserve is covered in forests of sal, haldu, papal, rohini and mango trees.
Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary
This preserve is named after the river Sonanadi. It is located at the edge of the Jim Corbett National Park. It covers an area of 301 square kilometers. It is famous for wild animals such as Asiatic elephants and tigers, reptiles like python, monitor lizard, king cobra and turtles and pheasants, fly catchers, Himalayan pied kingfisher, Himalayan bearded vulture, Shaheen falcon and brown and towny fish owls are the species of birds found in this sanctuary. A total of 600 species of birds are found in this sanctuary! It is home to Northern Indian tropical forests comprising of sal, sheesham, semal, bakli, aonla, jamun, kanthber, figs, bamboo and many other trees. The best time to visit Sonanadi is from the months of November to April.
Marchula is known for elephant rides, white water rafting, swimming, hiking and trekking in the Himalayan Mountains, rock climbing, river crossing and fishing in the river Ramganga and enjoying a ride on a jeep safari, amongst the wild animals. Marchula is 343 kilometers from Delhi, which is approximately 6 hours by road.
